Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to make us delete it. Written to describe what FairTix actually does — not what a template says.
The short version. We collect your email, your name, and what you bought. We store your password as a one-way hash and never see the original. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not put anything about you on a public blockchain. Organizers see who is coming to their own events, and nothing about anyone else's.
Who we are
FairTix is a ticketing platform operated from Austin, Texas. This policy covers fairtixnow.com and the FairTix application. You can reach us about anything on this page at privacy@fairtixnow.com.
What we collect

Information we record as you use FairTix
- Your tickets — which events, seats, and prices, plus a record of each time a ticket is bought, listed, transferred, refunded, or scanned in. We keep this history because it is how we can prove a ticket is genuinely yours.
- IP addresses and session identifiers — recorded while you shop so we can spot bots and bulk-buying scripts competing with real fans. This is also what powers the risk score shown at checkout.
- Security and audit logs — significant actions such as sign-ups and purchases. Email addresses in these logs are shortened before they are written down.
What we deliberately do not collect
- Card numbers. FairTix does not currently process payments. When it does, card details will be entered directly into our payment provider's own fields and will never reach FairTix systems.
- Advertising or analytics trackers. There are no third-party marketing pixels or analytics scripts on this site. We do not set advertising cookies.
- Location, contacts, or device fingerprints beyond the IP address described above.
- Government ID, date of birth, or student ID numbers.
Cookies and local storage
FairTix does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser's local storage holds two things: your sign-in token, so you are not logged out on every page, and a random shopping-session identifier used to hold seats in your cart. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and releases any held seats. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. It reaches other parties in exactly three situations:
- Event organizers. An organizer sees the attendee information for their own events — who holds which seat, and whether a ticket has been scanned in. Organizers cannot see your activity at anyone else's events, and other attendees never see your identity.
- Companies that run our infrastructure. Vercel hosts the website and Render hosts the application server. They process data on our instructions in order to keep the service running. When payments and messaging are added, the relevant providers will be named here before those features go live.
- When the law requires it — a valid legal request, or to investigate fraud, protect our users, or defend our rights.
If FairTix is ever acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of that business. We will say so on this page before it takes effect.
Blockchain
Nothing about you is published to a blockchain. FairTix does not currently write anything to any public ledger. If that ever changes, only anonymous cryptographic values would be published — never names, emails, phone numbers, or anything identifying you — because data on a public blockchain cannot be deleted, and we will not put you somewhere we cannot remove you from.
Marketing messages
FairTix does not currently send marketing email or text messages. If we add them, they will be opt-in: an unchecked box you tick yourself, with a working unsubscribe in every message. Messages about a ticket you already bought — a confirmation, an event change, a cancellation — are part of the service and are separate from marketing.
How long we keep things
- Account information — for as long as your account exists, and 30 days after you delete it so an accidental deletion can be undone.
- Ticket and event history — kept after your account closes, because an organizer needs a record of who attended and we may need it to resolve a payment dispute. It stops being linked to your account.
- Shopping-session and IP records — kept for fraud prevention and then discarded; they are not retained indefinitely.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do all of the following, and we will not treat you differently for asking:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account and personal information
- Tell you who we shared it with
Email privacy@fairtixnow.com and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm you are the account holder before acting. If you are in California, Texas, Colorado, Virginia, or another state with its own privacy law, these rights are also guaranteed to you by that law — including the right to appeal if we refuse a request, and the right to tell us not to sell or share your information. We do not sell or share it in the first place.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. The connection between your browser and FairTix is encrypted. Access to your tickets requires being signed in as you — we do not accept an email address alone as proof of who you are. Entry codes expire within seconds and are tied to the current ticket holder, so a screenshot of someone's ticket is useless. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as the law requires.
Children
FairTix is intended for people 18 and over, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When FairTix changes what it does with your information, this page changes at the same time, and the date at the top changes with it. For anything significant, we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing this page.
